Family day care educators will notify the family day care service prior to obtaining a new animal or bird that will be present on the premises. If pets are on premises, educators must ensure they are kept in segregation to ensure the maximum safety of all children. Educators must check the validity of the vet on location before enrolling any children into care. Failure to do so is a breach of policy and is may require an investigation.
